My friends, the day has finally come. A brand new Nintendo Direct has arrived and, among many other games, it gave us the long-awaited title and release date for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
While that was all the Zelda news, fans were also treated to the reveal of Fire Emblem Engage, the news that Pikmin 4 will arrive in 2023, a new Octopath Traveler and Kirby game are on the way, that Goldeneye 007 is headed to Nintendo Switch Online, and so much more.
There was a lot packed into those 40 minutes, and we are here to gather all the announcements, trailers, and gameplay videos in one place to ensure you don't miss a thing.
Alongside another short glimpse of gameplay, we finally have a release date and a name for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Yes, on May 12, 2023, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on Nintendo Switch.
The trailer contained footage of link exploring Hyrule - both on land and in the sky - and gave us a look at a new stasis power and the shattered world that Hyrule looks to have become. It also featured a bunch of skydiving, Link riding aboard a stone bird, and so much more.
While we didn't learn too much about it, Shigeru Miyamoto stopped by the Nintendo Direct to announce that Pikmin 4 will finally be released on Switch in 2023. This news is a long time coming as Miyamoto had previously stated that the game was "very close to completion" in 2015.
Fire Emblem Engage is the next main entry in the Fire Emblem series and it will follow a story set a thousand years after four kingdoms sealed away the great evil known as the Fell Dragon. In Engage, players will become a Divine Dragon called Alear who must work to collect Emblem Rings to "bring peace back to the continent of Elyos." Along your journey, you will even be able to have other previous Fire Emblem characters join your party like Marth and Celica.
Fire Emblem Engage will be released on Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land was first released on the Wii in 2011 and 2023 will see it arrive on Switch in a brand new pink, puffy package. This updated title features up to four-player multiplayer and a collection of mini-games like Samurai Kirby and Magolor's Tome Trackers.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe will be released on February 24, 2023.
Octopath Traveler 2 will be released on February 24, 2023, and will bring with it a whole new group of heroes and a brand new story to experience in the world of Solistia, all with the same wonderful 2D-HD art style that set the original apart from other JRPGS.
Octopath Traveler 2 will not be Switch exclusive and will also launch on PC (via Steam), PS5, and PS4.
The Nintendo Direct gave fans a new Bayonetta 3 trailer that revealed a bit more about the game that is set to be released on Switch on October 28, 2022. The new footage showed off combat, demon summoning, Bayonetta's transformation abilities, and more.
Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line is the ultimate celebration of the franchise's music, and its a brand new entry in the series that began on 3DS. This new game will feature 385 songs, and it will let two players play locally and up to four players online. It will also have a season pass that will add 90 new songs, including some from Nier, Octopath Traveler, and Live a Live.
Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line will be released on the Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2023.
Nintendo revealed some upcoming games that will soon be added to Nintendo Switch Online, and perhaps the most exciting is Goldeneye 007. If that wasn't exciting enough, Goldeneye will even feature online play. In addition to Goldeneye, Pilotwings, Mario Party, Mario Party 2, Mario Party 3, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, 1080 Snowboarding, and Excitebike 64 will also be joining the service in 2022 and 2023.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will officially be released on Switch and other platforms on December 13, 2022. It will tell the story of Zack Fair and will be a remaster of the PSP classic.
Wave 3 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass will launch this holiday and will include eight courses, including Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour and Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS.
Nintendo Switch Sports' Golf mode has been delayed to this holiday. When it does arrive as a free update later this year, it will bring with it 21 holes from the Wii Sports series and let you play with friends locally or with up to eight players online in Survival Golf.
Mario Strikers: Battle League will get getting its second free update later his month, and it will add Pauline and Diddy Kong to the roster. It will also add gear, a new stadium, Striker Ranking, more customization options, and more.
The second wave of DLC for Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Expansion Pass will add a new mechanical hero named Ino. It will also add Challenge Battles and new outfits. The DLC will arrive on October 13, 2022.
The first Splatfest for Splatoon 3 will arrive soon, and it will ask players to decide if they'd rather bring Gear, Grub, or Fun with them to a deserted island. This first Splatfest will take place on September 23 and will run through September 25.
While it's just the cloud version, Resident Evil Village Cloud will let Switch owners meet Lady Dimitrescu and experience the latest Resident Evil story. This cloud version will be released on October 28, but those interested can try out a demo right now. Later this year, Switch owners will also gain access to cloud versions of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3.
GameCube's Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is getting remade as Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, and it will be released on Switch in Summer 2023.
Fae Farm is a farm-sim RPG for up to four players that mixes the best of magic with the fun of building and caring for your very own farm. Fae Farm takes place in Azoria and players will need to use their skills and spells to help rebuild the world.
Square Enix has announced that Harvestella will be getting a demo today ahead of its November 4 release date. Furthermore, the demo will let you transfer your save to the full game when it is launched.
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, which was first released in Japan on the Wii in 2008 and never made it to the West, will arrive on Nintendo Switch in early 2023. The story follows Ruka Minazuki, who must travel to an abandoned hospital to use the Camera Obscura to rediscover her lost memories and repel the evil spirits that will try to get in her way.
Tunic, the adventure game starring an adorable fox that takes great inspiration from The Legend of Zelda, arrives on Nintendo Switch on September 27, 2022.
In our review, we said that "Tunic is an unapologetically challenging action-adventure game that is charming, multi-layered, and immensely rewarding to solve."
It Takes Two, the charming co-op adventure, will be released on Nintendo Switch on November 4, 2022. The game can be played on one system, on two systems via local wireless, or online with the included Friend's Pass that lets you gift a free copy to your co-op buddy.
Sifu, the Kung Fu action-brawler, will be released on Switch on November 8, 2022. In this game, players must work to get revenge on those who wronged them, and every time you fall in combat you will get older. However, you will also unlock new skills that may just mean the difference between victory and defeat.
Front Mission 1st: Remake and Front Mission 2: Remake were featured in today's Nintendo Direct, and the first game was revealed to be released in November, while the second will launch in 2023. Additionally, it was re-confirmed that Front Mission 3 is also in the works.
Ryza and eleven heroes will set off on an adventure in Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key to explore the mystery behind islands that have seemingly appeared out of nowhere. It will launch on Nintendo Switch on February 24, 2023.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered will be released on Switch in early 2023 and will let fans of the GameCube title and newcomers alike once again experience the story of Lloyd, Colette, and more.
From the creators of Danganronpa, Master Detective Archives: Raincode will cast players as the amnesiac detective Yuma as they work to solve crimes in a corporate-controlled metropolis that never stops raining. Master Detective Archives: Raincode will be out in Spring 2023.

Rune Factory 3 was first released on Nintendo DS in Japan in 2009 and, like many other games in this Direct, will be getting a new life on Switch in 2023. Rune Factory 3 will have players farming, building relationships with locals, caring for monsters, and much more. There will even be a new mode that will let you "enjoy quality time with your in-game spouse."
Additionally, it was confirmed that a brand-new Rune Factory game will be released in the future.
Journey to the continent of Antoecia in the new immersive RPG Various Daylife that features "job progression, strategic exploration, and an innovative battle system." Furthermore, it's available today on Switch!
Radiant Silvergun will bring the 1998 arcade classic of the same name to Switch later today. The game features five different types of weapons and tasks players with taking down enemies of the same color for a big bonus.
After you crash and are stranded on a strange alien planet, Factorio will task you with building a new rocket to get home by utilizing the world's resources. As you grow your operation, you will be at risk from the planet's wildlife. Luckily, you can always join up with a friend in cooperative cross-platform multiplayer.

Ib looks to be a creepy adventure game set in an art gallery that stars a young girl who must unravel what is actually going on. Choices matter and will determine which of the seven endings players will get to see.
OddBallers is a party game filled with minigames and a ton of customization options, and it will support local and online play with up to six players when it arrives on Switch in 2023.
The world of Fist of the North Star and fitness are set to combine in Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. In March 2023, players will be able to use their fists to become boxing champions.
The latest entry in the Just Dance franchise will arrive on Switch on November 22. Just Dance 2023 will let you dance to BTS' Dynamite and many other new songs with friends or solo.
Endless Dungeon is a procedurally generated rogue-lite that will have you and up to three of your friends working together to make it out of a space station that has been overrun by monsters. Endless Dungeon will be released in 2023.
