Mortal Kombat 1 Reveals Two New Fighters at Gamescom Opening Night Live

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, NetherRealm revealed four more characters are joining the roster for Mortal Kombat 1. The two new playable fighters are Sindel and General Shao, while the two new kameo characters are Motaro and Shujinko.

The news includes the latest trailer for the upcoming fighting game showcasing bone-crushing action from both new playable fighters.

Sindel and General Shao are the latest characters to be revealed for the upcoming reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Other characters revealed ahead of Mortal Kombat 1's Sept. 14 release date include returning players Reptile, Geras, Sektor, Frost, Scorpion, Li Mei, Liu Kang, Mileena, Quan Chi, Smoke, and Sub-Zero along with confirmation that Homelander, Peacemaker, and Omni-Man are joining the roster as the first wave of DLC characters.

The pre-order beta for Mortal Kombat 1 officially went live for Xbox and PS5 on Friday and ended on Monday. Of course, returning favorite Johnny Cage was an immediate highlight with his big combos and surprise sunglasses finishers.

Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on Xbox, PS5, Switch, and PC. For more, check out our hands-on impressions of Mortal Kombat 1 at Summer Game Fest (we were suitably impressed).
