Microsoft has announced Age of Mythology Retold launches on September 4, 2024, on Xbox Series X and S and PC.
The announcement came during Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase and alongside a new trailer, below.
Age of Mythology Retold is a strategy game from the developers behind the Age of Empires series. It’s set during a mythical age with gods, monsters, and humans colliding. Microsoft said it combines the best elements of Age of Mythology with modern real-time strategy design and visuals.
You choose your gods from the Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Atlantean pantheons, and summon lightning storms, quakes, and even the Nidhogg dragon. You can also call upon protective Dryads to help your people grow and prosper.
Units include Centaurs, Trolls, Mummies, bejeweled crocodiles who harness the power of the sun, and even one-eyed Cyclops. There are multiple campaigns spanning 50-missions. You get to besiege the walls of Troy, battle Giants in Midgard, and discover Osiris in Egypt.
