Wicked director Jon M. Chu is down as the director, with the script written by Deadpool & Wolverine screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Story Kitchen is now reportedly taking this talent package out to Hollywood studios for an expected bidding war.</p><p></p><p>The big question of course is which sister Sweeney will play: Zoe or Mio. Variety said it has yet to be decided.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Split Fiction only launched in March, but is yet another hit for Hazelight and designer Josef Fares, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/split-fiction-hits-2-million-sales-after-just-1-week" target="_blank">selling over 2 million copies in just a week</a>. It's also down as <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/nintendo-switch-2-launch-games-confirmed-so-far" target="_blank">a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title</a>.</p><p></p><p>IGN’s <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/split-fiction-review" target="_blank">Split Fiction review</a> returned a 9/10. We said: “An expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another, Split Fiction is a rollercoaster of constantly refreshed gameplay ideas and styles – and one that’s very hard to walk away from.”</p><p></p><p>And it’s not the only Hazelight game with a movie adaptation in the works. The 23 million-selling <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/dwayne-johnson-executive-produce-it-takes-two-movie" target="_blank">It Takes Two is also in-line for a film</a>, which Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may star in.</p><p></p><p>There is of course the possibility that nothing comes of these Hazelight movie deals. But given the enormous success video game adaptations are enjoying right now, Hollywood appears keen to make it work.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Last year, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/just-cause-movie-announced-with-blue-beetle-director-at-the-helm" target="_blank"><u>Story Kitchen announced a film adaptation of Square Enix's Just Cause</u></a>, with Blue Beetle director Ángel Manuel Soto signed on. It's also adapting <a href="https://www.ign.com/movies/dredge-the-movie" target="_blank"><u>Dredge: The Movie</u></a>, <a href="https://www.ign.com/movies/kingmakers" target="_blank"><u>Kingmakers</u></a>, and <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/the-sleeping-dogs-movie-is-in-development-and-were-hearing-shang-chi-star-simu-liu-is-set-to-play-wei-shen" target="_blank"><u>Sleeping Dogs</u></a>. It's even working on <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/surprise-sonic-the-hedgehog-movie-producers-are-making-a-live-action-toys-r-us-movie" target="_blank">a live-action Toys 'R' Us movie</a>.</p><p></p><p>As for Hazelight, it's already working on its next game, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/split-fiction-players-earn-trip-to-see-hazelights-next-game-after-beating-hidden-laser-hell-level" target="_blank">which it's already teasing</a>.</p><p></p><p></p><p><em>Photo by Alberto E.
