Little Nightmares 3 Delayed to 2025

Little Nightmares 3 has been delayed from 2024 to 2025, Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Europe have announced.

In a post on X/Twitter, the development team said it needs more time to reach the level of quality it and its fans expect of the franchise, though didn't reveal anything more specific. Supermassive Games laid off around 90 employees in March 2024, two months before this delay announcement.

"The teams at Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Europe have been working hard towards delivering the best experience possible for the next entry in the franchise," the Little Nightmares development team said.

"As much as we can't wait for you to return to the Nowhere, we also want to make sure we give the game the care and love it deserves. Quality is a top priority for us, and we know you feel the same way. For this reason, we've made the decision to shift the release of the game to 2025."

While this comes as sad news to those looking forward to the third game in the spooky stealth and adventure franchise, the announcement revealed more information on it is coming later in summer 2024. "In the meantime, we'd like to thank you for your patience and ongoing support," it said.

Little Nightmares 3 has been quiet ever since its announcement at Gamescom in August 2023, which came with an eerie reveal trailer which showed two new characters: Low and Alone. It also confirmed the game could be played solo with an AI companion or with a friend through two player co-op. It's currently announced for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
