Letting up on the advertisement ban's.

Really Why is the advertisement ban's so strict? Even if someone does a private message you still ban from what i know, why is this please help me to understand.

Because people try to advertise on our server.

If it was really a mistake, or an innocent chat, we unban.

We cannot afford to let people slip by, people come into the server every day attempting to advertise their own server

I understand them getting banned for just logging on and spamming the ip ,but is telling someone the ip in a private message on the forum a bad thing?

I wouldn't go into the office of a competing company and whisper to all the employees that they should come work at my company. Same applies here.

When you work in a corporation, you don't use your work email to apply at a competing firm.

As Echo said, the same applies here.

It's not always going to be everyone o.o most likely it would be only 1 or 2 people, In my opinion this rule should at least be watered down a bit.

I think that servers the clan plays on(in our case, quite a bit) are allowed to be mentioned, and the IP of them can be shared, it's fine.

Why the hell should it the people who advertise come on the server to advertise, even if it's a /msg they would still be taking aggression's players so instead of them taking 2-3 players they just ban the 1.

And in reply to officer we use TS when we mention them, just to be safe.

I have an idea.. instead of watering down the rule.. why not build up the IQ of the people who break it? 🙂

Just to clarify, we don't ban people for mentioning the IP of a private clan server in the case of something like RMM has set up (a private server + playing on aggression for public), but only if telling people from your own clan, and only if we are aware of the situation.
