High on Life Gets Exclusive New Trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live

After being delayed to December, High on Life received a brand-new trailer during Gamescom's Opening Night Live presentation. The fresh look at Squanch Games' first-person shooter revealed a first look at a near-complete boss fight.

In the gameplay clip, the player fights against 9-Torg, a clone that has a bounty on their head. The small boss fight arena fills with green toxic sludge, which the player avoids by swinging around from grapple points. The grapple hook is also keen to remind you, in very course language, that he's also a bullet deflection tool as well as a deadly knife. It seems like talking weapons are quite a feature of High on Life, since your handgun also chats to you, too (albeit in a much friendlier manner).

First revealed back in June, High on Life is a dark comedy sci-fi shooter by the creators of Trover Saves the Universe. Squanch Games was founded by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, and his sense of humor is clearly on display in the new trailer.

High on Life features a universe in which humans are the universe's greatest drug, and the weapons are alive and feature their own personalities. Its hero is a human high schooler who becomes a galactic bounty hunter.

High on Life was recently delayed to December 13 in order to get more polish. It will release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, and will be available at release on Xbox Game Pass.
