In celebration of the most recent Futurama revival, Epic Games has revealed yet another Fortnite crossover event that will bring Bender, Leela, and Fry into the game with new costumes, accessories, and a limited-time weapon.
Starting today, Fortnite players can purchase a number of new Futurama-themed outfits and accessories in the Fortnite item shop, including outfits and accessories to dress players up as Bender, Fry, and Leela. The various accessories include a Nibbler back bling for Leela and a Hypnotoad back bling for Fry, as well as a Planet Express glider and a new emote themed after Zoidberg's iconic scuttle.
Additionally, a new weapon will be added to Fortnite from now through version update 25.30, adding Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun to the game. The weapon allows players to fire plasma infinitely... or at least until it overheats and you have to wait for it to cool off.
While Fortnite has no shortage of history of crossing over with other media properties, this one specifically is timed in celebration of yet another Futurama revival, with season 11 having just kicked off earlier this week. The revival was announced last year for a 20-episode run on Hulu, and features the show's original voice cast.
This is the third time the show has been revived, and while we've previously considered it among the best adult cartoon series of all time, our review of the recent new season suggests the latest effort leaves something to be desired.
