Forza Developer Reassures Fans That Motorsport, Horizon 5 Will Continue to Receive Support After Staff Cuts

This statement comes exactly a month after reports that Turn 10 was gutted during a <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/microsoft-makes-significant-layoffs-across-gaming-division-xbox-boss-phil-spencer-confirms-in-memo-to-staff" target="_blank">massive layoff across Microsoft</a>. Initial rumors suggested around 50% of Turn 10 staff were cut at the time, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/forza-motorsport-team-is-no-more-former-developer-claims-with-remaining-turn-10-staff-left-to-support-the-horizon-side" target="_blank">but later reports indicated that even more were impacted</a>, potentially all or most of the studio. One former employee said that the studio was still open to supporting Horizon, but that the Motorsport side had been fully closed down.</p><p></p><p>Xbox has yet to make any kind of statement one way or the other as to what happened to Turn 10, what's going on at Playground, or who exactly of those studios is the one posting on Twitter/X saying it will continue to support both games. Notably too, the post doesn't say anything about future game development. Forza Motorsport is currently just two years old, but Forza Horizon 5 came out in 2021 and fans are feeling about due for another entry. It's unclear whether or not they'll get one, whether Motorsport will ever see another entry, or if the two Forza teams have been whittled down to mere support on existing games until they can't any longer.</p><p></p><p>This post also comes alongside updates to a few other Xbox-supported games.
