Final Fantasy 14 Producer Asks Fans Not to Troll in PvP: 'Participants Must Bring Their Best to the Fight'

Yoshida added that, "Participants must bring their best to the fight."</p><p></p><p>Players have been spamming chat options such as "Nice job!", repeatedly emoting or setting off fireworks on top of a downed enemy, and using the Tell command to directly insult opponents, but these are all prohibited as per Final Fantasy XIV's rules. Yoshida said some players have even found their opponents on social media to harass and criticise them.</p><p></p><p>"I'd like to warn against such behaviours," Yoshida said, later going on to say that guilty players could be subject to suspensions of up to 20 days with repeat or "exceptionally heinous" offenders being permanently banned.</p><p></p><p></p><p>He added: "All PvP content, including Crystalline Conflict, is intended to be a battle/contest of skill between players. Participants must bring their best to the fight, and for this reason uncooperative or lethargic behaviour is prohibited.</p><p></p><p>"Let’s strive to do our best even in situations where defeat is imminent, regardless of whether or not you’re interested in the rewards."</p><p></p><p>Any reports of this behaviour, when done with genuine malice and not accidentally, will be investigated by the development team and then dealt with accordingly, perhaps even via temporary or permanent banning.</p><p></p><p>This isn't the first time Yoshida has pleaded for fans to be nicer, but <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/ffxiv-director-asks-fans-to-be-kinder" target="_blank">in January it was developers he was forced to defend</a>.
