Damien Wayne Batman Game Canceled Following Leaks, Voice Actor Says

WB Games Montréal’s Damian Wayne Batman game was canceled following a series of leaks that revealed much about the unannounced project, a voice actor who worked on it has said.

In a Twitch livestream, voice actor Josh Keaton said he almost played Damian Wayne in the Batman game, but it was canned after the details emerged online.

Keaton, who voices Warcraft’s Anduin Wrynn, said he’d taken part in three or four sessions as Damian Wayne before the project came to an end.

“It was a bummer,” Keaton said. “But they leaked everything, the whole plotline, not only the enemies and villains and the rogues gallery, but also the concept art for them. They were doing such a different take on so many of the rogues gallery it gave away everything that was different about the game. So, it kinda sucked.

“The leaks killed the project. The leaks totally killed the project.”

Then, responding to another question: “It was not going to be in the Arkhamverse. Totally different thing.”

IGN has asked Warner Bros. for comment.

Kotaku reported Warner Bros. Games Montréal began work on a Damian Wayne Batman game after the cancellation of a Suicide Squad game in 2016. But the Damian Wayne Batman game was then canceled at some point between then and 2019, reporter Jason Schreier said. Warner Bros. Games Montréal went on to work on Gotham Knights, which eventually launched in 2022 but struggled to find an audience. Batman Arkham developer Rocksteady began work on a Suicide Squad game of its own, called Kill the Justice League. It finally launches next month.

The Damian Wayne Batman leaks are many and detailed. Concept art allegedly tied to the project depicted an old Bruce Wayne and a dystopian Gotham in a state of disrepair. The Batcycle was said to have been a main gameplay mechanic. The Batcycle made its way into Gotham Knights.

Warner Bros. has yet to announce WB Games Montréal’s next project.
