Aspyr has shed some light on the canceled DLC for the Switch port of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, pointing the blame at an objection from an unknown third party. Spotted first by Axios, Aspyr's co-CEO Ted Saloch noted in a court filing that "Aspyr believed it would be able to release the content, but a third party objected, and Aspyr was unable to do so." However, the document failed to specify who the third party in question is. An Aspyr spokesperson told IGN in an email that the company "has no further comment to provide." The document is part of a lawsuit in which plaintiff Malachi Mickelonis took legal action against Aspyr, alleging it had falsely represented that consumers who purchased KOTOR II would also get access to the "Restored Content DLC," and refused to give those who purchased the game a refund, instead opting to provide a complimentary code for another Star Wars game. As Axios points out, Aspyr states the complementary key, which Mickelonis requested and received a code for another game, was a symbol of compensation for the company failing to release the once-planned DLC.
