Valve's Steam Deck has joined the ever-growing list of devices compatible with some form of Xbox Game Pass, as the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta is now available for owners of Valve's handheld gaming PC.
On Twitter, Xbox Cloud Gaming's head of Product and Strategy, Catherine Gluckstein, said it was a collaborative effort between Valve and Microsoft to get xCloud and Game Pass working on Steam Deck. And, as it turns out, Valve got a lot of help from Microsoft to get the service up and running.

Moon Studios, the developer behind Ori and the Blind Forest and its sequel, is reportedly an "oppressive" place to work that has myriad issues with crunch, verbal abuse, and poor organization. This is according to a new report by Gamesbeat, which reports that Xbox is no longer working with the studio following what was said to be a "difficult relationship."
The lengthy report details a range of allegations, most of which center on the studio's founders, Thomas Mahler and Gennadiy Korol. They include reports of "constant arguments," a crunch culture in which developers were expected to be available at all hours and on weekends, and a steady stream of racist, sexist, and anti-semitic banter.

A Plague Tale TV series is in the works, and French director Mathieu Turi has confirmed that he is working on the adaptation.
As spotted by Eurogamer, French website Allocine announced that the extraordinary medieval fantasy world of A Plague Tale will be adapted into a TV series, with plans to keep the show "closer to its setting and to the games' original Bordeaux-based developer Asobo" rather than being handed over to any of the US production studios that have shown interest.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released in Holiday 2022.
Two years after it was first revealed to the world, Avalanche Software announced Hogwarts Legacy will be released this holiday.
Before the release window, Avalanche showed off nearly 20 minutes of gameplay that included all the various activities players can partake in their life as a wizarding student at Hogwarts. This includes taking magic classes, wizard duals, raising magical creatures, and more.
Hogwarts Legacy was announced in 2020 and was set to be released in 2021 before being delayed to 2022. The holiday release window is slightly more concrete than that so folks hoping to hop a train to Hogwarts will have to wait until the tail-end of the year.

As seen in today's State of Play, Hogwarts Legacy will let players live their full wizarding life as a fifth-year student at Hogwarts. That includes a wizard duel with another classmate, brewing potions in class, flying on a broomstick, and exploring the school's campus in your free time.

Blizzard today announced the first full Hearthstone expansion for 2022 - Voyage to the Sunken City. This set of 135 new cards will be available on April 12 in NA and April 13 in ANZ, and will take players deep underwater to the ancient city of Zin-Azshari, once the ancient capital of the Night Elves, before being submerged during the cataclysm. Rebellion has announced on Twitter that Sniper Elite 5 is launching on May 26. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, and will also receive a release on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series and One, and PC.

AMD announced two new technologies as part of its software lineup on Thursday: FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0 and Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), which aim to get more mileage out of GPUs in a "work smarter, not harder" approach.
AMD notes that FSR 2.0 will offer better image quality than FSR 1.0 in all four of its modes (Ultra Quality, Quality, Balanced, and Performance). FSR 2.0 promises to deliver higher frame rates over its original iteration and compete more closely with DLSS 2.0. Whereas DLSS 2.0 uses machine learning, AMD's solution optimizes anti-aliasing based on temporal data.

Elden Ring speedruns have seemingly been altered completely after the new 1.0.3 patch nerfed a number of items key to achieving the current record times.
The current world record holder, Distortion2, tweeted (below) "RIP Elden Ring speedruns" in response to a reduction in power for Hoarfrost Stomp (a previously extremely powerful ice spell).
Elden Ring's first major patch made a number of changes in favour of certain playstyles – such as improving buff length time and making it easier to upgrade weapons – but other nerfs to the Icerind Hatchet and Mimic Tear spirit ashes will definitely make certain approaches harder, including speedrunning.

Elden Ring has received a major patch across all platforms, which fixes a number of bugs and even adds new content (or perhaps finishes some previously unfinished content).
Developer FromSoftware said in its patch notes that it's added new phases to NPC questlines for Diallos, Nepheli Loux, Kenneth Haight, and Gatekeeper Gastoc, and has also added new NPC summons to some boss fights. It's not clear if these quests are brand new, or close off questlines for characters that previously weren't complete.
Players can also encounter a new NPC altogether, Jar-Bairn, a small living jar that can be found sitting on some steps in the north of Jarburg.

Star Trek: Resurgence is the upcoming narrative adventure from the team of ex-Telltale developers at Dramatic Labs. It's a non-episodic dialogue-driven game set in the post-Star Trek: Nemesis era of The Next Generation, and throughout your adventure, you'll make your way to, of course, strange new worlds. But you'll also be able to freely roam many sections of your ship, the U.S.S. Resolute, a medical vessel.
As you can see in the screenshot gallery below, you'll be able to explore Engineering deck, the shuttle bays, the corridors on the ship (a little thing that's huge for us Trek fans!), and of course the Bridge.

Players have found a pair of bizarrely fancy underwear hidden within Elden Ring – but you can't find them through normal means.
The Deathbed Smalls aren't accessible without cheating, but were seemingly cut from the game fairly late as they're a fully fledged item with artwork and stats, Polygon reported.
They're part of a wider Deathbed set found in the game. Another piece of the same set, the Deathbed Dress, is available in Elden Ring an found in Leyndell, The Royal Capital, close to the Lower Capital Church Site of Grace.

A new developer diary for Starfield has revealed that Oblivion’s persuasion mini-game has been updated and included in Starfield’s dialogue systems.
No footage of the system was shown as part of the video, but lead quest designer Will Shen did explain the thinking behind it. “We sat down, and it was funny [because] we didn’t start with ‘let’s look back at the old Oblivion system’, but there are a couple of beats there.
