Sonic Origins is meant to be an authentic celebration of the classic 2D Sonic the Hedgehog games, but not quite all of the content is making it into the compilation that launches later this week.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is coming to Steam on June 23, three months after its PC release on the Epic Games Store. On the same day, the Molten Mirrors DLC will also launch for all platforms, including Steam.

DICE has no plans to remove Russia as a playable faction for Battlefield 2042, despite the current real-life Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Talking to Eurogamer, EA DICE’s general manager, Rebecka Coutaz, discussed the possibility of Russia being removed from the game and replaced with a different faction. “That is very difficult to change in this entertainment game," she said.

Developer Mediatonic has confirmed that the Steam version of Fall Guys will still continue to receive full support, despite being delisted from the platform today.
In a post on Fall Guys’ Steam community page, Mediatonic said “For everyone that already owns the game, rest assured that you will continue to receive full support and all the tasty updates that land on other platforms, including crossplay and cross-progression support.”
“However, please note that after 1:00am EST on June 21, new players will be unable to purchase and download Fall Guys on Steam, and the product page will no longer show on the storefront.”

WB Montreal’s upcoming DC superheroes game, Gotham Knights, will feature the largest version of the iconic Gotham city that’s ever been seen in a video game.
In an interview with Game Informer, game director Geoff Ellenor was asked how Gotham Knights’ version of DC’s flagship city compared to the open-world Gotham seen in Batman: Arkham Knight.
“It’s pretty big,” said Ellenor. “I haven’t put one map over the other, but our Gotham is a big place.”
Executive producer Fleur Marty added, “For sure it’s the biggest version of Gotham that has been represented in video games. The most important thing for us is its density and verticality. It has a lot of layers. The Batcycle is the long-range mode of transportation.”

Rudeism on Twitter has modded Sifu to work with a motion controller, and it looks like a kung fu dream come true.
Rudesim, who also modded a Fisher-Price game controller to work on PC and played Elden Ring with it, made Sifu work with a controller that can detect his punches and parries in-game.
You can see Rudeism testing out his new mod in the video below, and you can see the joy in his face as he realizes how well it translates to the game.

Tony Hawk has confirmed that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was planned to follow in the slipstream of the successful 2020 remake of the original two games, but the project died following Activision’s decision to officially merge developer Vicarious Visions into Blizzard.
The skateboarding legend discussed the decision to abandon plans for more remakes during a Twitch livestream with Andy Gentile, a former Neversoft designer who also served as senior designer on THPS1+2.

A new patent that was submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office by the Valve Corporation reveals an abstract and blueprints of a rumored new virtual reality headset that is similar to the Meta Quest and Quest 2.

Diablo Immortal’s release in China has been pushed back, just days before it was due to launch. The official line is that the development team needs more time to optimise the game, but the delay comes in the wake of the banning of Blizzard’s Chinese social media account.
Over the weekend, a new press release on the Chinese Blizzard website explained that the Diablo Immortal development team needs to make a number of optimisation adjustments, including support for a wider range of devices, improving render quality, and other network and performance improvements. A company that develops cheat codes for Destiny 2 has agreed to pay Bungie $13.5 million in damages in a move that will end a copyright infringement lawsuit.
The company has also agreed to a permanent injunction against the creation of any new cheating software for Destiny 2 or any other Bungie game.

Diablo Immortal appears to be off to a strong start, as the mobile-focused take on the Blizzard franchise has generated over $24 million USD in revenue in its first two weeks.
As reported by PCGamesN, industry tracking website AppMagic has shared some interesting tidbits of data for the free-to-play Diablo Immortal alongside the microtransactions details, including that the USA and South Korea have spent the most money and that the game has been downloaded more than five million times.

Before Google scaled back first-party development for Stadia, its video game streaming platform, two games were reportedly in the works for the platform: Supermassive's The Quarry and Squanch's High On Life.
According to Axios, both games were in development at the tech giant before Google closed its internal development studios, with The Quarry subsequently being picked up by 2K. When its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, was asked by Axios about Google, the rep simply stated that the publisher was happy with its decision and that the studio "was looking for a publishing partner as the project came to completion."

The 1997 film adaptation of Starship Troopers featured a lot of space soldiers dying terribly to show how having an entire society based on enlisting in the military to go fight aliens is… pretty bad, really.
