Skybound Entertainment is returning to the world of the popular mobile game Summoners War. Skybound is teaming with publisher Com2uS to release a second spinoff comic called Summoners War: Awakening.
Summoners War: Awakening is a direct sequel to the original Summoners War: Legacy comic. Awakening reunites writer Justin Jordan (whom you may also recognize from the Luther Strode franchise) and artist Luca Claretti, with Igor Monti (Radiant Black) coloring the series this time.
Summoners War: Awakening continues the story of aspiring summoner Rai. With Legacy having chronicled her origin story, Awakening ups the stakes by leaving Rai and her allies stranded behind enemy lines to deal with everything from sky pirates to one...
Season 2 of both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 have been delayed while Activision makes several changes in response to player feedback.
As reported by Eurogamer, Call of Duty announced the two week delay in a tweet (below), meaning Season 2 will now launch on February 15 instead of February 1.
"Our studio teams have been making several changes based on what we heard from our player community," Activision said.
Season 2 will see the return of fan-favourite Resurgence mode and also add a brand new small map for Warzone, and Activision has also made changes to the Gulag, looting, and loadouts.
As for Modern Warfare 2, Activision is add several multiplayer maps, new modes, and weapons, and Ranked Play is also...
All of that time away has taken its toll on the Croft Manor, and now the iconic Tomb Raider locale needs a scrub down. To restore Lara Croft's lavish dwellings, PowerWash Simulator will crossover with Tomb Raider later this month in a free DLC for all players.
On January 31, the bizarre crossover from Square Enix Collective and FuturLab brings a free Tomb Raider Special Pack to PowerWash Simulator owners on consoles and PC. The trailer shows off a few familiar places around Lara's home, including an outdoors obstacle course reminiscent of her earliest PlayStation adventures.
It looks like the inside has plenty to tidy, too. The PowerWash Simulator footage teases a few clean-up jobs around the Croft Manor, where layers of grime and...
After today's announcement that Microsoft will lay off 10,000 people, details on how internal restructuring will hit its gaming divisions continue to emerge, with Halo Infinite's 343 Industries among the studios impacted.
According to Bloomberg, Joseph Staten, a Halo veteran who began his career with Bungie in 1998, will transition from his Halo Infinite creative director role and rejoin Xbox's publishing division. Staten joined the team at 343 Industries in 2020 as the campaign project lead on Halo Infinite and later saw a title change to Head of Creative.
Bloomberg's report includes an email from 343 Industries head Pierre Hintze, who explained the studio "made the difficult decision to restructure" and that support for Halo...
Variety is the spice of life. So I do love a novelty purchase from time to time. The more leftfield the game the better. The more it can cater to my OCD tendencies the better-er still. If it can also bizarrely bolt in a retro gaming reference as DLC, well, that's just the better-est.
Today's example of this: PowerWash Simulator + the forthcoming Tomb Raider DLC. Yes, you too can spend worrying amounts of time cleaning the crap out of a virtual manor. Why is Lara's stately home in such a shambles? Probably because somebody locked Winston the flatulent butler in her freezer.

Ubisoft is facing turbulent times financially and in-house, and CEO Yves Guillemot was forced to reckon with recent comments he made shifting the blame to the staff.
After cancelling three unannounced games and delaying the release date of Skull and Bones for a sixth time, Guillemot told employees “the ball is in your court” to help get the $3 billion company back on track.
The changes at Ubisoft were scrapped up to "major challenges" in the industry, the underperformance of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and Just Dance 2023, and an upcoming "restructuring" for the publisher. On Wednesday, a new report from Kotaku revealed that Ubisoft had a company-wide Q&A to address the news of the restructuring. There, the CEO apologized for his...

According to reports at Bloomberg and Kotaku, a number of developers at the three Xbox studios were informed today that their positions were being elimintated. In total, 878 positions are being impacted immediately in Washington across all of Microsoft, while further layoffs are expected through March.
Specifically, layoffs hit The Coalition (which is responsible for the Gears franchise as well as an upcoming new IP), 343 Industries (which has been working on ongoing support for Halo Infinite), and Bethesda (working on the upcoming Starfield)...

In the video above you can meet the five playable Klowns: the Trapster, Tracker, Scout, Fighter, and Tank. A team of three of these Klowns will be able to cause chaos in multiplayer matches versus seven other players taking the role of humans in the town of Crescent Cove. Each Klown is equipped with a raygun that can encase humans in a cotton candy cocoon, the Klown Jump ability that allows them to jump to any point on the map previously discovered by the team, and the all-important healing laughter ability. In addition, each Klown...
The New York Game Awards 2023 have arrived and, alongside honoring CEO of Microsoft Gaming and head of Xbox Phil Spencer with the Andrew Yoon Legend Award, the show saw Elden Ring walk away victorious with the Game of the Year and the Best World awards.
The New York Video Game Critics Circle hosted the 12th annual New York Game Awards tonight, January 17, and it honored the best games, actors, esports athletes, and journalists of 2022.
Elden Ring was the only game to win multiple categories, meaning a ton of games were given the spotlight they deserve, including Vampire Survivors, God of War Ragnarok, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Immortality, and more.
As we previously mentioned, Phil Spencer won the Andrew Yoon Legend Award at...
The RRP of the much coveted (yet expensive) DualSense Edge has been dulled today. Not by much, admittedly—but every buck counts when you're chasing that premium life, no? And take it from a guy who got mitts on...it very much is. Speaking of living the high life, I've noticed Kogan's prices on the Steam Deck have inched even lower recently. Tempting stuff, Valve's recent warning notwithstanding.

The NPD Group has released its analysis of US game sales for the month of December and for the full year 2022, and while the full-year results aren't shocking, December specifically has some interesting tidbits in the game sales charts that shed a bit of light on how well two supposedly "underperforming" games have done lately: Callisto Protocol, and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.
First, Callisto Protocol. It debuted in December at No.17 on the US sales charts (ranked by dollar sales), reaching No. 10 on the PlayStation charts and not cracking the top 10 on Xbox at all. That's not bad in and of itself, to be clear: Callisto is a brand new IP by a brand new studio, after all. It was never going to beat out giants like Elden Ring or...
John Wick director Chad Stahelski will direct Michael B. Jordan in the Tom Clancy sequel Rainbow Six as a follow-up to 2021’s Without Remorse.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan will reprise the role of Navy SEAL and CIA operative John Clark, who has appeared in numerous Tom Clancy novels, first in the Jack Ryan series, then in his own spinoffs like Without Remorse and Rainbow Six.
The movie will adapt from the same novels that Ubisoft has based its video game series on. In an interview with IGN, Jordan described Without Remorse as a more personal story, but a sequel could be more action-packed and skew closer to the same material covered in the video games.
Stahelski has directed each John Wick movie since the film series...
It seems Rocksteady's upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League could feature live service elements including a store and a battle pass. This information comes from a leaked screenshot of the game four months ahead of its release.
VGC reports that the leaked image originated on 4chan, and the outlet says it confirmed with its own sources that the image is real. The screenshot shows what looks like the game's main menu, where we can see all four playable characters lined up.
The left side of the screen shows a chapter select menu, while the bar on the top of the screen shows options including Looks, Loadout, Social, Store, and Battle Pass. This indicates that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League could contain live service...
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty might be an action game, but after playing through brand new areas for about five hours, I went away realizing that it innovates on the exploration loop in Soulsborne games more than anything else. While the game’s challenging combat is as stellar as you would expect from a Team Ninja game, it is the Morale Rank system that truly feels like it’s shaking things up.
In Wo Long, both the player and enemies have a Morale Rank that indicates their strength. You can raise your Morale Rank simply by defeating enemies, but it goes up faster if the enemy you beat has a higher Morale Rank than yourself. If you get killed your Morale Rank will decrease, and the same can be said for the enemy. Different from a level-based...
Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft publisher Activision Blizzard has claimed NetEase declined an offer to extend its publishing deal in China.
As reported by Reuters, Blizzard China published a statement to Weibo claiming it contacted NetEase earlier in January with an offer to extend their deal by six months, allowing gamers in the country to continue playing the likes of Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and other Blizzard titles.
NetEase declined the offer according to Blizzard China, however, meaning the discontinuing of these game services will go ahead as planned on January 23.
"It is a pity that NetEase is not willing to extend services of our game for another six months on the basis of existing terms as we look for a new partner,"...
After nearly five years since its stunning announcement trailer, we’re now just one month away from the launch of Atomic Heart, the strictly single-player first-person shooter that thrusts you into an alternate history Soviet setting and tasks you with taking on an army of angry androids. The good news is that after going hands-on with the first couple of hours of a near final build of the game, this bolshevik BioShock seems as though it could well be worth the wait – its superpowered combat, fascinating story and spectacular setting all appear to be clicking seamlessly into place to form a cohesive whole, blinking into vibrant life like one of its many deadly assembly line creations.
The opening moments of Atomic Heart’s reportedly...

Apex Legends has a content drought problem. It remains one of the best battle royales and has dominated the scene thanks to its intense, fast-paced movement, impeccable gunplay, and unique Legend characters. But while it’s been four years since Apex surprise launched and quickly rose to success, it’s now beginning to look tired.
While Apex’s season launches are usually great, offering either new guns, Legends, or maps, the content between season launches is usually few and far between. There are some updates between seasons that come a month or two after launch – season 14 launched 9th August introducing new Legend Vantage – and the following update, the Beast of Prey Collection event, dropped two months later.
Collection events...
Warning: contains full spoilers for episode 1 of HBO's The Last of Us.
HBO's The Last of Us is a mostly faithful adaptation of the hit PlayStation game. But just how close to its source material does it get? We've gathered images from the series premiere and put them next to stills from Naughty Dog's masterpiece to see just how similar some of it is.

After years of speculation, it was finally announced on October’s Silent Hill Transmission livestream that the Silent Hill series will get a multi-project reboot. While the showcase revealed several games and even a new movie, it began with the news that the first title in the return of the series would be a full remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team, the Polish studio known for games like Layers of Fear and The Medium.
IGN Japan had the opportunity to interview not only Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto, but also Silent Hill 2 concept artist Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka, both of whom have a deep involvement in the series. Not only did Ito and Yamaoka work on the original, they are involved in the remake as well...
Developer Game Science has announced that its Chinese folklore RPG Black Myth: WuKong will be released during summer 2024 in a wild new trailer.
The bizarre two-minute short film (below) shows a young rabbit trying to install the game on an out of date PC before it finally falls apart and they're forced to buy another.
Upon finally installing the game, however, only a countdown clock appears and, years later, the aged rabbit finally gets to see Black Myth: WuKong in action.
No more specific release date was given outside of the summer 2024 window, but this at least confirms roughly when fans can get their hands on the highly anticipated RPG. Black Myth: WuKong was first announced almost three years ago in February 2020 and Game...
It's time for a new week and another curated deals list for the gaming connoisseur. Is every game here a must-own? For the most part, sure. Some are, however, unknown quantities that feel like they ought to be bought, but you never can tell with a preorder. Other things presented are remnants of a time long, long ago (2022) that are only just now worth it. Mostly because they've been price-chopped to hell. Lookin' at you, Gotham Knights.

Marvel Snap will be getting its long-awaited PVP Battle Mode on January 31, assuming there are no "last minute issues."
The news was revealed on Marvel Snap's official website, and developer Second Dinner's associate design director Kent-Erik Hagman also took to Unity Blog to further detail what players can expect.
Marvel Snap's Battle Mode arrives as part of the Version 1.0 update, and it will see two opponents facing off against each other through multiple rounds. Both players will start with 10 health and the goal is to cut the other player's health to 0 before they do the same to you.
Additionally, decks are locked throughout the entire battle, so it will benefit players to pay attention to what cards are played so they can...
Horror film legend John Carpenter really, really loves Dead Space. The director of The Thing, Halloween, and Escape From New York has talked about it extensively in the past. And amidst his love of the series, Carpenter may have just inadvertently teased a film adaptation before it was ever officially revealed.
In an interview with Variety, the publication nudged Carpenter on his past remarks about wanting to make a Dead Space film. In response, Carpenter backpedaled pretty significantly on the idea that he might be involved, but at the end let slip that "another director" was involved...implying such a thing exists in the first place.
"I’m a big video game fan, so I played all the [Dead Space] games," Carpenter said. "I was down...
A League of Legends spinoff title for PC and consoles is reportedly in the works.
First reported by Polygon, the leak comes from South Korea's games rating committee. According to the leak, the game is titled Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story and has been rated for PC and console.
The game could apparently star Sylas on a quest to save Demacia. Demacia is one of the kingdoms in League of Legends, ands has often been depcted as a kingdom in turmoil. Sylas is a champion who was added to League of Legends back in early 2019. Also known as Sylas the Unshackled, the character's basic attack in League of Legends whirls chains around him, damaging nearby enemies.
His equipment could lend itself nicely to an action title, with chain...
A classic turn-based RPG in the style of Dragon Quest is not exactly the first place my mind goes when it comes to thinking of game genres that would pair well with the action-heavy world of One Piece, but as One Piece Odyssey proves, it’s actually kind of a great fit. The Straw Hats make for one hell of a party of RPG characters; Eichiro Oda’s one-of-a-kind art style lends itself well to filling the world with fantastical and amusing creatures; and the over-the-top nature of battles from the actual manga and anime gives plenty of material for some of the coolest (and funniest) special attacks I’ve seen in any turn-based RPG. Those fights would’ve been better if they were a more consistent challenge, and I could’ve done with less...

Striking Distance Studios is under fire for reportedly leaving developers out of The Callisto Protocol's credits. Now, IGN's own reporting corroborates the accounts that key names were left out of the game's credits, and IGN has heard that issues with crediting on games directed by Glen Schofield date further back than just The Callisto Protocol.
In a report from gamesindustry.biz earlier this week, sources told the publication that an estimated 20 developers were omitted from The Callisto Protocol's credits. IGN spoke to two former employees of Striking Distance Studios, both of whom worked at the company during The Callisto Protocol's development, and have confirmed details from the report.
One of the employees we spoke to was...
There's something of a sweet spot in gaming monitors, and it's 27 inches. At the typical distances you'll find yourself from a monitor on a desk, a 27-inch display does a good job providing plenty of space without completely overtaking your field of view. And, when you pair that display area with a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, you can get a strong balance of size and clarity. In smaller rooms, a 27-inch monitor can even make a decent substitute for a TV when you pair it with a good set of speakers.
The existence of that sweet spot is probably part of the reason there are so many 27-inch, 1440p monitors on the market. You'll find high-speed models that can let you game with buttery-smooth frame rates and variable refresh rates as well as...
