Microsoft has continued its custom console collection by creating an Xbox Series S based on 'Pokémon with guns' hit Palworld.
Revealed on X/Twitter, below, the Palworld Xbox Series S itself features a ton of Pals in colourful artwork, but it's perhaps the controllers that will draw the most attention. The console comes with four gamepads, each one themed after different Palworld beasties.

Steam survival crafting game Nightingale is getting an offline mode "as soon as is feasible", with developer Inflexion Games deeming it a priority.
In a developer update posted to Steam, Inflexion said it built the game with a shared, connected universe in mind but didn't realise players would want an offline mode too.
It updated the post later to say work on regular updates would be uninterrupted despite saying it was prioritising the unplanned single player mode. News on regular updates, pertaining to new content, fixes, bugs, and other work would arrive in the coming days, it said.

Avatar: The Last Airbender star Ken Leung thought he was auditioning for a role in James Cameron's Avatar instead of that of Commander Zhao on the Netflix series.
Speaking to Deadline, Leung admitted he hadn't heard of the beloved animated series before he was awarded the role and laughed that, when he was told the role was for Avatar, he thought he'd "be blue".

Warner Bros. Games and developer NetherRealm have released the first gameplay of Mortal Kombat 1 DLC guest character Peacemaker, featuring the voice and likeness of actor John Cena.
Mortal Kombat 1’s Peacemaker is based on the character played by Cena in DC’s The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker series, and joins the game on February 28 as part of the early access period for Kombat Pack owners. Peacemaker then goes on general sale on March 6.

Helldivers 2’s latest patch has caused a “nasty” PlayStation 5 login bug that’s currently preventing people from playing the game.
Helldivers 2 patch 1.000.11 launched across PS5 and Steam today, February 22, and promised to kick AFK players and fix the defrosting bug.
But it appears to have caused a PS5 specific issue that is now making Helldivers 2 unplayable on Sony’s console. IGN has received multiple reports from players unable to login, and have verified the dreaded "servers at capacity" message is present on PS5.
Addressing the issue in a post on the Helldivers Discord, developer Arrowhead said it was aware and on the case.

Elden Ring sales have grown to hit 23 million, publisher Bandai Namco has announced.
As part of the reveal of the hotly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, due out this June, Bandai Namco issued a sales update for the base game, which, last we heard, had sold 20 million a year after launch.
This new 23 million figure is made up of shipped copies of the physical version as well as download sales, including those on Steam, so it provides a solid picture of Elden Ring’s breakout success. To put that into context, Hogwarts Legacy, 2023’s best-selling video game, has sold 24 million copies, generating well over $1 billion in sales.

PlayStation 5 and Steam hit Helldivers 2 was built on an engine that was discontinued after work on the game began.
80LV reported that Arrowhead built Helldivers 2 using the Autodesk Stingray engine, once called Bitsquid — the same engine used to create the original Helldivers game that first launched on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in 2015.
While using the same engine to build the sequel wouldn’t necessarily raise eyebrows in of itself, Autodesk Stingray was discontinued in 2018, six years before Helldivers 2 came out. And in a tweet, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt confirmed work on Helldivers 2 began before Autodesk Stingray was discontinued.
