Elden Ring’s co-op summoning system can be a lifesaver for tarnished in need of a little help to take down a troublesome boss. However, its design leaves some pretty significant barriers to players hoping to enjoy a sustained co-op experience. For example, players are booted back to their own world rune arc in hand the moment the area boss is defeated, or as soon as they unceremoniously bite the dust. Summoning also prevents you from riding atop your trusty steed Torrent, which can make Elden Ring’s expansive open world seem a little too expansive on occasion.

The next Lords of the Fallen game launches in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, publisher CI Games has announced.
The Polish company confirmed it had signed a publishing deal with Fortnite maker Epic Games for the PC version of the game, which does not yet have an official title. However, the rights to the game and the series, as well as publishing rights on all non-PC platforms, remains with CI Games.
Lords of the Fallen was developed by Hexworks for release in 2023 and went on to sell 1.3 million copies as of the end of the year, a result Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games, recently called “solid.”

When BioWare announced that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf had been renamed Dragon Age: The Veilguard, general manager Gary McKay explained the decision was rooted in a wish to reflect the game’s “really deep and compelling group of companions.” It's a logical pivot considering the immense cultural effect Baldur’s Gate 3’s collection of misfit heroes triggered last year. When a game is trying as hard to terrify and unsettle me as Still Wakes the Deep is, and instead I mostly feel kind of bored a lot of the time, I start to question whether this type of experience simply doesn't tingle my spine anymore. Elden Ring creator and FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki appears to have very high standards, saying the beloved role-playing game isn't quite the "ideal fantasy RPG" despite its universal acclaim.
Speaking to PC Gamer, Miyazaki said that Elden Ring — dubbed a masterpiece by IGN and countless others — is just one step on his path towards his ideal game, with the likes of Demon's Souls, the Dark Souls trilogy, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice all acting as predecessors too.
"Back when doing interviews about Elden Ring, I think I mentioned that I'm still in the process of making my ideal fantasy RPG," Miyazaki said. "While Elden Ring is not quite it, it's pretty close. It's getting close."

Bethesda teased The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2018 with a brief announcement video, below, that gave little away about the studio’s plans. Six years later and fans are still in the dark about what to expect from the hotly anticipated sequel, which won’t release until 2028 at the earliest.

Cyberpunk 2077 files allegedly stolen from developer CD Projekt Red in 2021 have appeared online and seemingly revealed scrapped missions set on the moon.
As reported by Insider Gaming, images which surfaced online of concept art, blueprints, file repositories, and map data appear to hint at what could be a cancelled expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 that would have taken players well beyond Night City. CD Projekt Red declined to comment on the alleged leaks when contacted by IGN.

Alone in the Dark developer Pieces Interactive has been shut down by the now infamous Embracer Group after the game failed to meet expectations.
A statement on the developer's website lists a 2007 to 2024 lifespan for Pieces Interactive alongside the message "thanks for playing with us." It also offers a short history of the studio before a dedicated paragraph comments on its acquisition by Embracer Group, which in the last year has also shut down developers Free Radical Design, Onoma, and Volition Games amid lay-offs affecting more than 1,000 employees.

Elden Ring developer FromSoftware has asked fans to be mindful of Shadow of the Erdtree spoilers after details of the expansion leaked online.
In a post on X/Twitter, FromSoftware asked fans not to spoil elements of the highly anticipated downloadable content, which launches June 21, 2024, after some with early access leaked the entire final boss fight and more.
"With the release of the expansion of Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, please be mindful of spoilers for those who want to tread into the Realm of Shadow with nothing but their determination and their minds unclouded," the post said. "Thank you for your cooperation."

Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) has announced that it has suspended more than 600 in-game accounts following widespread complaints of cheating.
The developer revealed the move in a post on its Robert Space Industries website, saying that it has suspended accounts that participated in exploitative behavior following an investigation. Affected players are said to have manipulated Star Citizen’s systems to duplicate items and gain more of its in-game currency, Alpha United Earth Credits (aUEC). All aUEC gained using these methods have been removed from the ecosystem.
