Xbox Showcase Rumors: Gears of War and Doom Look Likely, With One Potentially on PS5

But the interesting bit of news here is that, according to the newsletter, Doom: The Dark Ages has "been earmarked as a Project Latitude game to launch simultaneously on PS5 in 2025."</p><p></p><p></p><p>The so-called "Project Latitude" is reportedly the internal name for Xbox's continuing push to bring its first-party titles to rival consoles. That move started earlier this year with previous console exclusives Grounded, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, and Sea of Thieves <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/xbox-vision-of-the-future" target="_blank">going multi-platform</a>.</p><p></p><p>What <em>isn't</em> part of that Project Latitude push, however, is apparently the next installment of Gears of War. While that will apparently make an appearance at the showcase, that will reportedly be exclusive to Xbox and PC.</p><p></p><p>Regardless of their console exclusivity statuses, both games will undoubtably be huge news amid a weekend full of major gaming reveals. A new Doom game had long been theorized among fans, thanks in large part to <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/oblivion-remaster-fallout-3-remaster-and-more-leaked-from-microsoft-document" target="_blank">leaked Microsoft court documents</a>, as well <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/doom-heavily-rumored-for-xbox-june-showcase-amid-bethesda-trademark-and-other-hints" target="_blank">as a recent trademark filing</a>. A sixth Gears of War game isn't entirely surprising either, as that, too, had <a href="https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/the-first-gears-of-war-6-news-will-reportedly-be-coming-this-summer/" target="_blank">been subject to rumors</a>.
