In Dark Heresy, you'll "search crime scenes, investigate leads, collect evidence" and put all of that in an investigation journal to help you connect the strings. There are a lot of games out there that will let you take on the role of investigator, but it seems like Dark Heresy will let you be as clean, or as corrupt as you want to be. Of course, because this is a 40K game, things will eventually turn violent, and it looks like Owlcat has migrated a lot of the combat mechanics over from Rogue Trader. However, there does seem to be some new mechanics, like being able to target specific body parts on your enemies to cripple them in myriad ways.
