It’s footage that focused on a mix of cinematic highlights and action-packed gameplay, with the goal being to show players just how Gwendolyn will be able to topple some of the tougher enemies thrown her way.</p><p></p><p>Tides of Annihilation was <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/single-player-action-game-tides-of-annihilation-revealed-during-sonys-state-of-play-2025" target="_blank"><u>announced</u></a> at a February PlayStation State of Play presentation as a single-player action game set in a magical version of London. Aside from its visuals and snappy action, it’s the boss fights that have had players hoping to see updates from Eclipse Glow sooner rather than later. Gameplay is no doubt the main draw for many, but the studio has made it clear that its story, which is said to be rooted in Arthurian legend, remains an important component, too.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“London lies in ruin, torn apart by an abrupt invasion from another realm,” a story setup for Tides of Annihilation says. “As Gwendolyn, the city’s last surviving inhabitant, you will face off against otherworldly foes as she navigates a world where reality and fantasy intertwine, unravelling the mysteries binding this shattered existence.”</p><p></p><p>Tides of Annihilation has no release date but is expected to eventually launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.</p><p></p><p></p><p><em>Michael Cripe is a freelance writer with IGN.
