The Wolf Among Us 2 Will Be Released Episodically in 2023, But Will Be Developed Like a Single Game

The Wolf Among Us 2 , developed by a <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/12/13/telltale-games-shut-down-and-revival-explained" target="_blank">fresh team under the Telltale banner</a>, won't be following suit.</p><p></p><p></p><p>The stream today also included a first gameplay trailer and new story details. The game, set 6 months after the first, will see anti-hero Bigby Wolf suspended and in anger management counseling. Snow White will now be deputy mayor of the game's Fabletown setting.</p><p></p><p></p><p>The trailer gives us a sense of the game's heavily stylized visuals, synth score, and introduces us to new characters, including Tin Man and Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz. In classic Wolf Among Us style, they aren't the characters you remember.</p><p></p><p>We're nearing the end of a long road for The Wolf Among Us 2, which was <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2017/07/19/comic-con-2017-the-wolf-among-us-season-2-announced-for-2018" target="_blank">announced in 2017</a>, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/05/25/telltales-wolf-among-us-season-2-delayed-to-2019" target="_blank">delayed in 2018</a>, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/09/21/telltale-games-reportedly-shutting-down" target="_blank">cancelled the same year</a> after Telltale was effectively shuttered, and <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/12/18/the-wolf-among-us-2-completely-restarted-with-new-engine" target="_blank">'completely restarted'</a> when a new version of Telltale emerged.</p><p></p><p>The original was something of a cult classic, telling the story of Bigby Wolf and a murder investigation in Fabletown.
