The Outlast Trials was <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/12/04/the-outlast-trials-adds-co-op-to-the-survival-horror-series" target="_blank">first announced back in 2019</a>, and adds multiplayer to the horror mix. Set amid the Cold War, you play a human guinea pig recruited to test methods of brainwashing and mind control. You'll be trying to survive deeply unethical experiments alone, or with up to three partners.</p><p></p><p>In addition to the first look, The Outlast Trials was also confirmed to be getting a closed beta on Steam. The beta will run from October 28 to November 1, so you'll be appropriately be able to play on Halloween.</p><p></p><p></p><p>The Outlast Trials was shown alongside lots of games at Opening Night Live, including Dead Island 2 and <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/hogwarts-legacy-gamescom-opening-night-live" target="_blank">Hogwarts Legacy</a>.
