Naughty Dog has seemingly included a big reference to hit sitcom The Office in its The Last of Us Part 1 remake. As shared on the Naughty Dog Central Twitter fan account (below), a video from TikTok user rxelei shows an office layout featured in the game that looks remarkably similar to the Dunder Mifflin Scranton office from the show. It appears to have been newly added in the remake. In the Pittsburgh section of the game, the player enters a smashed window into an office building that looks identical in areas to the sitcom location. As Joel moves towards the front of the room, we see (what appears to be) Pam's desk, Michael's office, and the Dunder Mifflin front door, complete with couch. Jim and Dwight's desk block isn't quite intact, with only one remaining in place instead of the three from the show. The reason for this appears to be quite intentional though, as several desks and other office objects are piled up to block the entrance. Much else is in the right place, including the conference room and more. Some have cast doubt on this, saying other aspects – such as the accounting area – aren't where you'd expect them to be, but the placing of the office entrance feels like more than a coincidence to us. The Last of Us Part 1 was released earlier this month and is a from-the-ground-up PS5 remake of the original PlayStation 3 game. In our 9/10 review, IGN said: "A gorgeous and well-honed remake of one of the biggest boppers in the PlayStation pantheon, The Last of Us Part I is the best way to play – or replay – Naughty Dog’s esteemed survival classic." Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. Continue reading...
