Bethesda chief Todd Howard discussed the evolution of Bethesda games, and the visual upgrades the near 20-year-old game has now received.</p><p></p><p>The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion launched in 2006 as a follow-up to fan-favorite Morrowind on PC and Xbox 360, with a PlayStation 3 release following in 2007. It’s set in the fictional province of Cyrodiil, and revolves around the player character's bid to defeat a fanatical cult that wants to open portal games to the demonic realm known as Oblivion.</p><p></p><p>The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered launches today, April 22, in a shadowdrop across console and PC, as well as on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.</p><p></p><p>Here's the official blurb:</p><p></p><p>The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered modernizes the 2006 Game of the Year with all new stunning visuals and refined gameplay.
