However, sentiment soured due to <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/tekken-8-opens-controversial-premium-in-game-shop-with-uniqlo-branded-items" target="_blank">what was deemed aggressive, post-launch monetisation</a> more akin to what you'd see with a free-to-play game than a $70 release, leading to a ‘mostly negative’ recent user review rating on Steam.</p><p></p><p>IGN’s <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/tekken-8-review" target="_blank">Tekken 8 review</a> returned a 9/10.
