Street Fighter 6’s roster of playable characters grows on February 27 with the release of Ed, Capcom has announced. The Psycho-powered boxer from Street Fighter 5 hits Street Fighter 6 then across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam. Ed will be unlocked for owners of the Year 1 Character Pass, Year 1 Ultimate Pass, Deluxe Edition, or Ultimate Edition on February 27. Ed’s Outfit 2, which is inspired by his Story Outfit from Street Fighter 5, will also be available when he arrives. Here’s the official blurb on Ed from Capcom: “First appearing in Street Fighter 5, after rejecting the evil intentions of M. Ed, the initial inspiration of Modern Controls in Street Fighter 6, will also retain his simplified controls, while now receiving expanded inputs for his Classic Controls.” Capcom said that alongside the release of Ed is a brand new stage called Ruined Lab. This shows the aftermath of Shadaloo’s fall as its laboratory lies in shambles. Owners of the Year 1 Ultimate Pass and Ultimate Edition automatically get this stage when Ed is released. Elsewhere, various quality-of-life updates will also be introduced to Street Fighter 6, including the ability to switch button displays on PC and an Extra Lighting feature for Photo Mode.
