Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being delayed, EA announced today. Respawn's forthcoming sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will now release April 28 — approximately six weeks after its original date. In a statement posted on social media, director Stig Asmussen addressed the reasoning behind the delay, saying the team is focused on polishing the final release while enhancing performance. Respawn Entertainment CEO and Group GM Vince Zampella also released a statement, saying that Respawn is "dedicated to making games that feel good to play." "We're proud of the game this team has created and giving them the extra time ensures that on April 28th we're delivering another great Star Wars experience for our players," Zampella said. First announced last May, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the follow-up to Respawn's initial turn with the series, which attracted more than 20 million players across multiple releases. Featuring Cal Kestis as a Jedi fleeing the Purge, Fallen Order won praise for its outstanding combat and generally strong story, but was criticized for its lack of polish.
