A new update for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has rolled out today, May 1, for PC players that addresses some of the game's ongoing performance issues, and an even more extensive update is planned for console versions tomorrow, May 2. EA took to Twitter to announce that PC players can now download an update that brings "performance issues for non-raytraced rendering." Meanwhile, an update for consoles on Tuesday packs a massive slate of improvements expected to rectify many of the woes players have experienced since the game's launch last week. It's important to note that the PC version has already received these other updates. The patch offers fixes for a multitude of crashes and glitches that have caused problems throughout Respawn's newest adventure in a galaxy far, far away. But it's really the promise of general performance improvements that will be a relief for many who purchased the game on day one, hopefully providing a much-needed reduction of screen-tearing and graphical hiccups. This newest update comes after an already staggeringly large day one patch that took many buyers by surprise – sometimes coming in at up to 128GB. Additionally, this day one update is mandatory, meaning those who purchase physical copies of the game are required to connect to the internet at least once to download it. Still, despite its sometimes frustrating performance issues, we still found Jedi Survivor to be a wonderful follow-up to its 2019 predecessor. In our review, we called it "a sequel that does virtually everything better than the original – which was already an exceptional Star Wars game." The full list of updates coming to PlayStation and Xbox is as follows;

Multiple crashes fixed across PlayStation and Xbox Series X/S and various areas of the game
Fixes crashes that were tied to skipping cinematics
Performance improvements across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S
Fixed an issue with dynamic cloth inside the Mantis
Fixed various rendering issues
Fixed an issue with registered Nekko colors not saving
Fixed an issue with registered Nekko disappearing from the stable
Fixed issues with cinematic dialogue overlapping
Fixed various collision issues
Fixed an issue with enemy AI remaining in T Pose during photo mode
Fixed a freeze that occasionally occurred while talking to Doma
Fixed a bug where the BD-oil VFX did not properly render
Fixed an issue where players were getting stuck inside the Chamber off Duality if you didn't save after leaving the chamber and die
Billy Givens is a freelancer at IGN with over a decade of experience writing gaming, film, and tech content.
