Split Fiction Hits 2 Million Sales After Just 1 Week

Hazelight took <a href="https://x.com/HazelightGames/status/1900204006451925484" target="_blank">to social media</a> to celebrate the strong launch, saying that it’s “blown away” by the support from fans both new and old.</p><p></p><p>The team’s previous update on Split Fiction sales numbers revealed that a whopping 1 million players picked up Mio and Zoe’s sci-fi story <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/split-fiction-sells-one-million-copies-in-48-hours" target="_blank"><u>only 48 hours after its initial launch</u></a>. That means another million have each picked up a copy in the five days since.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Meanwhile, Split Fiction’s status as a co-op game means the actual number of players engaging with the experience is surely much higher than the number of copies sold. Bolstering its impact with gaming fans is its <a href="https://www.ea.com/games/split-fiction/split-fiction/features/friends-pass-pc" target="_blank"><u>Friend’s Pass</u></a> feature, which allows one player to purchase the game while granting a friend access at no additional cost. As Hazelight’s adventure continues to make waves on social media, that 2 million sold number will surely only increase.</p><p></p><p>Hazelight’s previous title, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/the-game-awards-2021-winners-revealed" target="_blank"><u>2021 Game of the Year winner It Takes Two</u></a>, saw similar success after selling around <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/it-takes-two-selling-1-million-copies-shows-that-players-want-co-op-only-games-josef-fares-says" target="_blank"><u>1 million copies a few weeks after its launch</u></a> in March 2021.
