Spider-Man's Thomas Haden Church Says Sandman's Return Has Been Discussed at Marvel

And I would say that conversations have been had about the possibility of Sandman coming into a future iteration of it.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Church reiterated that “the conversation has happened about him coming back”, and that his future appearance could see the character boast “a more fulfilling story”.</p><p></p><p>It's unclear if this would be in the mainstream Marvel Cinematic Universe or Sony's Spider-Man universe though, as the end of No Way Home could perhaps lend itself to both.</p><p></p><p>The first outing of Church’s Sandman came in the <a href="https://www.ign.com/movies/spider-man-3" target="_blank">2007 movie Spider-Man 3</a> starring Toby Maguire, who has <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/tobey-maguire-says-hed-play-spider-man-again-why-wouldnt-i-want-to-do-that" target="_blank">also expressed interest in returning</a> to don the webbed suit in a future project.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Church appeared once again as Sandman in Jon Watts’ <a href="https://www.ign.com/movies/spider-man-no-way-home" target="_blank">Spider-Man: No Way Home</a>, which saw Tom Holland’s Spider-Man team up with those of Maguire and Andrew Garfield to battle a cast of villains drawn from across the multiverse.</p><p></p><p>Holland is set to reprise his role as the titular hero in at least one more film, and whilst little is known about the project at this point, Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed in February <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/mcu-writers-have-a-story-for-spider-man-4-kevin-feige-says" target="_blank">that work on the fourth movie had begun</a>.</p><p></p><p>"All I will say is that we have the story," said Feige.
