Okami 2 Unveiled at The Game Awards 2024

Earlier this year, it <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/capcom-asks-players-if-they-want-sequels-to-okami-dead-rising-mega-man-and-more" target="_blank">polled fans to see if they were interested in an Okami sequel</a>, alongside sequels for Dead Rising, Mega Man, Breath of Fire, Dino Crisis, and more. We've also been hearing from Kamiya himself lately that he's been asking Capcom for the opportunity to <a href="https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/hideki-kamiya-asks-capcom-to-let-him-make-okami-2-and-viewtiful-joe-3-creators-have-the-duty-to-create-sequels-fans-want-to-see-i-still-feel-like-i-havent-fulfilled-my-duty/" target="_blank">make both Okami 2 and Viewtiful Joe 3</a>, and that <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/hideki-kamiya-and-ikumi-nakamura-discuss-okamis-development-brilliance-and-its-many-challenges" target="_blank">he believes the original Okami team was "weak" and "not a dream team"</a> - suggesting he may have assembled something he's a little more happy with this time around.</p><p></p><p>Even if Kamiya believed the original team wasn't as good as it could have been, we still loved the original Okami.
