It seems reasonable to assume Mortal Kombat 1 will get similar content as part of the continuation of its story. But this “big surprise” Boon teased is anyone’s guess.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Boon added that developer NetherRealm plans to support Mortal Kombat 1 for even longer than it supported Mortal Kombat 11. <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/netherrealm-new-game-mortal-kombat-11-dlc" target="_blank">NetherRealm moved on from Mortal Kombat 11 in July 2021</a>, more than two years after the game came out. “So we’re going to be supporting the game for even longer than we did with Mortal Kombat 11,” he said. “It’s going to be fun.”</p><p></p><p>Over the weekend, NetherRealm and publisher Warner Bros. Games revealed the <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/mortal-kombat-1-reveals-quan-chi-gameplay-and-release-date-alongside-our-best-look-yet-at-peacemaker" target="_blank">release date and gameplay for DLC character Quan Chi</a>, and gave us our best look yet at John Cena's Peacemaker and Khameleon as a Kameo fighter. Peacemaker is another member of Mortal Kombat 1's Kombat Pack alongside <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/mortal-kombat-1-homelander-peacemaker" target="_blank"><u>Homelander, Omni-Man, Ermac, and Takahashi Takeda,</u></a> and arrives in February 2024.</p><p></p><p>There’s a lot happening in the world of Mortal Kombat 1.
