What makes his addition in MultiVersus so special is that Batman, who was confirmed as a playable character long ago, is voiced by the late Kevin Conroy.</p><p></p><p>Batman fans likely already know that Conroy and Hamill’s performances in The Animated Series have remained iconic since its debut in the ‘90s. The duo has reprised their roles in various movies, shows, and games through the years, with perhaps the most notable example of their work in games being the Batman: Arkham series.</p><p></p><p>After <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/kevin-conroy-voice-of-batman-in-animated-series-and-arkham-games-dies-aged-66" target="_blank"><u>Conroy passed away in 2022</u></a>, Hamill announced that he would <a href="https://www.gamesradar.com/mark-hamill-joker-retirement-batman-kevin-conroy/" target="_blank"><u>retire from playing the Joker</u></a>, saying, “Without Batman, there is no punchline.” MultiVersus seems to have presented him an opportunity to star alongside Conroy one more time, giving fans what may be the last video game the two ever share.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>However, there is still at least one more project on the way that includes Conroy as Batman and Hamill as Joker.
