Crucially, the teaser is cinematic, so not actual gameplay, and content is subject to change, but much like Destiny's Nightfall mode, it looks like Marathon's second season ups the stakes, offering a much tougher challenge for the Runners prepared to take it on.</p><p></p><p>We don't yet have any of the details — who these new foes are, what they want, or why they're tracking us — but we do get a little flavor of what's to come with the video description: "Players will head into the night as Nightfall emerges on Dire Marsh, offering a tense and dark experience against other Runners and new creatures native to Tau Ceti 4. Fight on the new Night Marsh map with new content such as the new Runner shell Sentinel, the Cradle, new weapons, progression improvements, and more.</p><p></p><p>Season 2 of Marathon kicks off on June 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.</p><p></p><p></p><p>The new season follows a plethora of changes, big and small, for the extraction shooter.
