Baldur's Gate 3 launched earlier in August with various members of its localisation team missing from the credits, but the blame lies with the localisation company and not developer Larian Studios. Responsibility for the incomplete credits, which don't currently include freelancers' names, was immediately placed on the localisation company. "This was all Altagram group," a Larian spokesperson told Eurogamer. "We reached out and compelled them to fix this." Altagram took to Twitter itself to accept this blame, saying in a lengthy statement it was sorry for the omission of freelancers' names and that it would address the issue in a coming hotfix. It also released seven commitments to improve its crediting standards to ensure the issue doesn't occur again. "We take full responsibility for the omission of our freelancers' names and apologise for the effects that it had," it said in the statement. "We are learning from this experience and are reviewing the failures of our internal processes regarding credits. "We would like to thank Larian for allowing us to quickly fix that error and update the credits section. The names of the Brazilian Portuguese translators will be included in an upcoming patch for the game." Baldur's Gate 3 has otherwise launched to an incredibly positive reception. The Dungeons & Dragons-based RPG has also proven incredibly popular, almost immediately becoming one of the most popular games on Steam and forcing a hotfix from Larian to cope with demand. It's also gained attention for being, in the developers' own words, "big-budget horny", with players being shocked by the extent of its nudity. In our review in progress, which is so far around 55 hours into the game, IGN said we "more or less love Larian's latest high-fantasy behemoth". Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. Continue reading...
