Blizzard has yet to announce the game, and IGN has asked for comment.</p><p></p><p>The CDN update also includes background images and logos for Warcraft 2: Remastered, which lean on the original's naval theme.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>This all appears to be pointing toward <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/warcraft-30th-anniversary-direct-will-celebrate-blizzard-future" target="_blank">Blizzard’s Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct stream</a>, set for November 13 at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK. Blizzard has said this stream will include "something for everyone," from old-school fans of the real-time strategy games to World of Warcraft players. Warcraft Rumble and Hearthstone will also feature in the stream, which comes in lieu of the canceled BlizzCon 2024.</p><p></p><p>A Warcraft 2 remaster would certainly fit the bill here. The RTS classic launched on PC in 1995 as a sequel to the groundbreaking Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and met with positive reviews and big sales. Indeed, Blizzard has form in remastering its previous games. <a href="https://www.ign.com/games/starcraft-remastered" target="_blank">StarCraft: Remastered</a>, which is about to launch into Game Pass, launched in 2017, the disastrous <a href="https://www.ign.com/games/warcraft-3-reforged" target="_blank">Warcraft 3: Reforged</a> launched in 2020, and <a href="https://www.ign.com/games/diablo-ii-resurrected" target="_blank">Diablo 2: Resurrected</a> launched in 2021.</p><p></p><p>Don’t expect Blizzard to announce Warcraft 4, however. As detailed in the recently-released <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/jason-schreier-on-unearthing-the-secrets-of-blizzards-long-history-in-his-eye-opening-new-book" target="_blank">Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment</a>, Blizzard is pretty out on RTS these days.
