A remaster had been heavily rumored for some time before that, however, with reports of its existence <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/horizon-zero-dawn-ps5-remaster-reportedly-in-the-works-alongside-a-multiplayer-game" target="_blank">stemming back to 2022</a>.</p><p></p><p>Those rumors only ramped up back in May after <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/sony-is-pulling-horizon-zero-dawn-from-ps-plus-amid-ps5-remaster-rumors" target="_blank">Sony pulled Horizon Zero Dawn from PS Plus</a>. Sony hadn't officially commented on the rumors, but <a href="https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/a-horizon-zero-dawn-remaster-is-in-the-works-for-ps5-its-claimed/" target="_blank">VGC's 2022 report</a> said the remaster features improved visuals to bring it up to par with its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, as well as added accessibility features, graphics modes, and quality-of life-improvements to gameplay.</p><p></p><p><a href="https://www.ign.com/videos/we-may-be-getting-a-horizon-zero-dawn-remaster-but-do-gamers-want-it-ign-daily-fix" target="_blank">Still, many have questioned</a> whether Guerilla's beloved game even needs a remaster yet, especially as it's already playable on the <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/horizon-zero-dawn-60-fps-patch-ps5" target="_blank">PlayStation 5 in 4k at 60 FPS</a> following a 2021 update. That said, it's one of the best-selling PlayStation games of all time, shifting over 24 million units since launch, so there's plenty of fans to cater to.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Horizon Zero Dawn initially released for PlayStation 4 in 2017, followed by a PC release in 2020.
