GTA 5 Had Trevor DLC Before Rockstar Scrapped It, Voice Actor Steven Ogg Says

The trio shed light on what they claimed was scrapped downloadable content for GTA 5 that starred Trevor as a Federal Investigation Bureau agent.</p><p></p><p></p><p>"Originally they were gonna do continuing stories of Michael, Franklin, and Trevor," Luke said, and Ogg expanded on his version.</p><p></p><p>"We also had that really cool s**t of — and I forget if it was DLC, I have no idea — but where Trevor was gonna be undercover, he works for the FEDs," Ogg said. "And we did shoot some of that stuff with James Bond Trevor. He's still kind of a f**k up but he's doing his best. And we shot some stuff and then it just disappeared and they never followed up on it."</p><p></p><p>Luke then suggested it was canceled because of the success of GTA Online, which <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/gamers-mostly-played-older-games-like-gta-5-and-fortnite-in-2023" target="_blank">remains as popular in 2024 as it was at launch more than a decade ago</a>. "They went to GTA Online I believe," Luke said of the story DLC's cancellation.</p><p></p><p>The future of GTA Online is a tad unclear at the moment, however, as Grand Theft Auto VI, and presumably the next iteration of the multiplayer mode, is expected in 2025. Rockstar shared a trailer in December 2023 which reintroduced fans to <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/rockstars-gta-6-trailer-release-date-announcement-was-so-huge-other-developers-are-parodying-it" target="_blank">Rockstar's take on Miami, Vice City</a>, and also featured <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/99-details-from-the-gta-6-trailer" target="_blank">a ton of intricate details</a> and <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/gta-6-map-leonida-is-packed-with-references-to-real-life-events-from-florida" target="_blank">plenty of references to wild and wacky real life events too</a>.</p><p></p><p>We did shoot some of that stuff with James Bond Trevor. He's still kind of a f**k up but he's doing his best.</p><p></p><p>While the game was revealed alongside <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/gta-6s-announced-platforms-for-2025-release-date-dont-include-pc" target="_blank">a 2025 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S</a>, PC players were left frustrated, though not necessarily surprised, that <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/pc-gamers-brace-themselves-for-the-inevitable-gta-6-double-dip-in-2026" target="_blank">their platform was left off the list</a>.</p><p></p><p>They weren't the ones a little peeved though, as <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/this-fking-sucks-rockstar-devs-bemoan-gta-6-trailer-leak" target="_blank">several developers from Rockstar itself took to social media</a> to express their frustration at the trailer leaking early.
