Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters Have Been Apparently Been Rated for PS4 and Switch

As of IGN's review of the ESRB website, <a href="https://www.esrb.org/search/?searchKeyword=Final%20Fantasy%20IV&platform=All%20Platforms&rating=E%2CE10%2B%2CT%2CM%2CAO&descriptor=All%20Content&pg=1&searchType=All&ielement[]=all" target="_blank">searches for games like Final Fantasy 4</a> only yield results for versions of the RPG already out.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Regardless, the ESRB's descriptions one way or the other don't mean all hope for console versions of the classic Final Fantasy titles is completely lost. Last year, Square Enix mentioned <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/final-fantasy-pixel-remaster-could-come-to-other-platforms-switch-xbox-playstation-with-demand" target="_blank">ports of the Pixel Remasters</a> to more platforms could be possible based on demand. Since then, the company has wrapped up its staggered launches of all six games on Windows PC and mobile.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Given the timing, these listings seem all the more plausible. This week, on December 18, Final Fantasy will celebrate its 35th anniversary after a long year of surprising announcements. The <a href="https://eu.finalfantasy.com/35th" target="_blank">official Square Enix hub</a> for the series doesn't make any mention of Pixel Remaster news just yet, but there's plenty of time between now and Final Fantasy's birthday.</p><p></p><p>As for the rest of the series, there's plenty of news to catch up on. The next installment in Final Fantasy 16 goes up for pre-order today, with a <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/final-fantasy-xvi-16-release-date-preorder-bonus-collectors-edition" target="_blank">monstrous Collector's Edition to boot</a>. An older classic of the PS1 era, Final Fantasy 7, also just added <a href="https://www.ign.com/games/crisis-core-final-fantasy-vii-reunion" target="_blank">another remastered spin-off</a> to the library, too.
