PS5 exclusive <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/square-enix-responds-to-final-fantasy-16-sales-concern-points-to-ps5-install-base" target="_blank">Final Fantasy 16 sold three million copies during launch week</a> in June. Square Enix has yet to issue an updated figure for that game.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Final Fantasy 15, which launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2016,<a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2016/12/01/final-fantasy-xv-5-million-copies-shipped-on-day-one" target="_blank"><u> sold 5 million units in its first day</u></a>. It remains the fastest-selling game in the history of the series. As of May 2022, six years after release, Final Fantasy 15 had sold 10 million units worldwide, making it one of the best-selling Final Fantasy games of all time.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Final Fantasy 7 Remake is the first game in a planned trilogy of remakes, and is set to be followed by <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/final-fantasy-7-rebirth-exclusive-to-ps5-for-at-least-three-months" target="_blank">Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth</a>, due out February 29, 2024.
