It has the working title of Death Stranding Isolations.</p><p></p><p>Announced today, November 13, the series will "bring to life a new story based on the award-winning Death Stranding video game to life for audiences across the world" in 2027. Kojima was joined by series director Takayuki Sano to announce the partnership with Disney+, and shared concept art by Ilya Kuvshinov, who served as character designer for <a href="https://www.ign.com/tv/ghost-in-the-shell-new-animation-project" target="_blank">Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045</a>.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Death Stranding Isolations' story will be told through "a traditional, hand-drawn 2D animation style," with some of Japan’s top "animation talent at E&H production [...] working to bring the series to life."</p><p></p><p></p><p>We have only the image above to go on — there's no video as yet — but we do have a story synopsis:</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>With Death Stranding 2 out the door, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/kojima-productions-beyond-the-strand-10th-anniversary-livestream-everything-announced-hideo" target="_blank"><u>Kojima is still busy working on a number of new projects</u></a>, including horror game <a href="https://www.ign.com/games/od-a-hideo-kojima-game" target="_blank"><u>OD for Xbox Game Studios</u></a>. He <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/hideo-kojima-reveals-first-trailer-for-xbox-game-studios-title-od" target="_blank"><u>revealed the first trailer for it last month</u></a>, sparking speculation that <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/is-od-connected-to-pt-hideo-kojimas-new-horror-game-explained" target="_blank"><u>it is connected to P.T. in some way</u></a>. The mysterious game will star Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' Sophia Lillis, Hunters' Udo Kier, and Euphoria's Hunter Schafer, with the trailer showcasing Lillis' character in a spooky house, lighting candles before meeting a malevolent figure.</p><p></p><p>There's a lot going on with Death Stranding, too. There's a Death Stranding live-action movie in the works, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/death-stranding-movie-will-tell-a-story-you-havent-seen-in-that-world-director-confirms" target="_blank">which Kojima and director Michael Sarnoski have confirmed will tell a new story instead of retelling the events of the games</a>.
