Here, we learned about the combat's new "peeling" system, which lets players shoot the flesh off of enemies to expose bones and guts.</p><p></p><p></p><p>We also learned Gunner Wright will return to voice Isaac, and that there will be fine-tuning to the story to better connect the original Dead Space to its sequels. We don't have an official release date for the game yet, but reports say <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/dead-space-remake-reportedly-aiming-for-fall-2022-release" target="_blank">Dead Space could be aiming for release this fall</a>.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Dead Space is a 2008 action-horror game originally developed by Visceral Games. With the studio <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2017/10/17/ea-refocuses-amy-hennig-star-wars-game-visceral-games-closing" target="_blank">now shuttered</a>, EA Motive is handling development on the remake. <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/dead-space-remake-ps5-xbox-series-pc-announcement-trailer" target="_blank">The Dead Space remake was officially announced</a> last summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We know the developers are rebuilding the original Dead Space from the ground up in the Frostbite engine.
