The series is also known for its sandbox-style gameplay, where you could use almost anything as a weapon to fend off the undead.</p><p></p><p></p><p>The release of Dead Rising would spawn into a successful franchise, which consists of three sequels, the most recent being 2016's Dead Rising 4, two remakes, a litany of DLC expansions, and a few live-action films.</p><p></p><p>"Though Dead Rising may seem like a simple, mindless game when you first pick it up, it eventually reveals itself as a deeper experience," <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2006/08/07/dead-rising-review-2" target="_blank">IGN said in our review of Dead Rising</a>.
