Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game from CD Projekt Red and Go On Board has reached its crowdfunding goal in a mere 10 minutes and 4 seconds. The campaign, which went live on crowdfunding website Gamefound at 6am Pacific, was fully funded by 6:10am. The board game is currently, less than two hours later, 777% funded, with $778,783 donated. "Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game is a cooperative, story driven tactical action game with for one to four players which explores a "what if?" scenario which alters a crucial event from the video game," the synopsis reads. It features 13 missions, unique mechanics, and characters from CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk universe including V, Judy, Panam, and Jackie. "The dynamic and fast-paced board game features a time pressure mechanic to recreate the experience of being a mercenary in Night City, featuring epic action moments, and over 50 Street Stories to make each playthrough diverse and unique. It also contains an additional Afterlife Mission Generator, which offers high replayability with dozens of single missions for players to create." The $79 Standard Edition of Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game comes with five player minuatures, all necessary boards, a Night City map book of 50 locations, paper enemies, a ton of tokens and dice, and the rulebook. The $139 Deluxe Edition comes with all that and more, including full plastic miniature versions of all enemies and other characters and myriad other upgrades. CD Projekt Red deployed a similar strategy with The Witcher: Old World board game. All stretch goals were also reached within this short amount of time, meaning players can also look forward to a new game mode, additional weapons, better quality products, more miniatures, and a new mission. CD Projekt Red is expanding its Cyberpunk 2077 universe, which is adaptated itself from a tabletop role-playing game, in myriad ways.
