Control Resonant Release Date Announced in New Trailer, Costs $60

It's coming September 24 this year and the new trailer gave us another look at the story of Control Resonant, the sequel to Remedy Entertainment's 2019 beloved action game. This time, players will fill the shoes of Dylan Faden, the tortured brother of Jesse Faden (protagonist of the first game), to stop a castastrophic supernatural threat that has consumed Manhattan and could eliminate humanity as we know it.</p><p></p><p>Remedy isn't following the new norm for AAA game pricing, as the standard edition will cost just $59.99, which is $10 cheaper than what's expected nowadays. However, if you want some extra in-game goodies you can pay $69.99 for the digital deluxe edition.</p><p></p><p>PlayStation players will also get a big bonus, as there will be a special PlayStation digital deluxe edition that grants players 48-hours of early access. This will only be available to PS5 owners, so Xbox and PC players will have to wait until September 24 to jump in on the action.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“<em>Control Resonant </em>is Remedy Entertainment’s most expansive game ever, complete with incredible gameplay, narrative twists and challenging creativity that will keep old fans and new engaged and entertained like nothing we have created before,” said Johannes Paloheimo, Remedy’s Chief Commercial Officer and head of publishing. “As Remedy is self-publishing <em>Control Resonant,</em> our global marketing efforts will be just as ambitious in its execution and style, evidenced by this inclusion in the State of Play and leading us into Summer Game Fest and beyond. We will have a number of events and opportunities for fans over the summer as we move towards the game’s release on September 24.” Additionally, game director Mikael Kasurinen gave <a href="https://blog.playstation.com/2026/06/02/control-resonant-launches-september-24-on-ps5/" target="_blank">a deeper look on the story of Control Resonant</a> on the official PlayStation blog.</p><p></p><p>We had a hands-off <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/control-resonant-first-look-preview-this-is-no-soulslike-its-faster" target="_blank">Control Resonant preview</a> opportunity back in March, and executive previews editor Ryan McCaffrey came away impressed, concluding, "After seeing Control Resonant’s aggressive, fast-paced combat for myself, I’m even more fired up to get my hands on it."</p><p></p><p>Control Resonant may also be <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/alan-wake-2-dlc-has-what-looks-like-a-pretty-big-teaser-for-control-2" target="_blank">a continuation of some of the events from Alan Wake 2</a>, as the games share a universe, but it's unclear how important Alan Wake's previous story will be to this game. Remedy is also currently <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/max-payne-remake-remedy-rockstar-ps5-pc-xbox" target="_blank">developing remakes of the first two Max Payne games</a> in partnership with Rockstar Games.
