Requiem's launch appears to be the biggest in recent franchise history — hitting 5 million sales faster than Resident Evil Village, and the remakes of Resi 2 and Resi 4.</p><p></p><p>Early indications had suggested Requiem was landing well, with a peak of more than 344,000 concurrent players on Steam over the weekend — <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/resident-evil-requiem-launches-big-on-steam-breaks-series-record" target="_blank">a series record</a> — plus an <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/resident-evil-requiem-blows-past-disney-cory-in-the-house-and-metal-gear-solid-to-join-clair-obscur-expedition-33-as-the-highest-user-rated-game-on-metacritic" target="_blank">extremely positive response from fans</a> and critics alike.
