Capcom Confirms Next Resident Evil in Development, Will Be Led by Resident Evil 7 Director

Nakanishi also served as a designer on <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2009/03/10/resident-evil-5-hils-take" target="_blank">Resident Evil 5</a>.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Rumors of a potential Resident Evil 9 reveal have swirled through much of 2024, though Capcom has thus far kept it under wraps. In May, IGN also <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/resident-evil-zero-and-code-veronica-remakes-reportedly-in-the-works-at-capcom" target="_blank">corroborated reports of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica remakes</a>. Its most recent releases include the Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village, both of which were included as Game of the Year contenders in their respective years.</p><p></p><p>In addition to confirming the development of a new Resident Evil, Capcom also provided details on a <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/kunitsu-gami-path-of-the-goddess-reveals-demo-release-available-today-and-okami-collaboration" target="_blank">new Kunitsu-Gami demo</a> and the <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/dead-rising-deluxe-remaster-release-date-revealed-will-run-in-4k-and-60fps-in-re-engine" target="_blank">release date for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster</a> during its summer showcase.
