The developers of Modern Warfare 3 have another glitch to contend with: Snaking 2.0. Call of Duty players would be forgiven for thinking they’d seen this one before, and that’s because they have. Various games in the series have had movement glitches and exploits that have let players zip about the battlefield like a snake, making it difficult for opposing players to get a lock on. Just weeks into this latest Modern Warfare 3’s life, snaking has returned, with some hilarious clips popping up online showing players surprised to see it in action. Here’s a snippet. How’s this done? It seems the glitch is triggered on mouse and keyboard only, and with various changes made to keybinds. It sounds fiddly, but the gist is players are jumping then pushing the mouse scroll wheel up almost immediately. Obviously this isn’t intentional gameplay, and Activision will likely set its sights on a hotfix of some description sooner rather than later, given how Snaking 2.0 is now spreading within the community. Developer Sledgehammer this week held a Reddit AMA where it answered pretty much every community question except those about Skill-Based Matchmaking, perhaps the hottest topic within Call of Duty right now.
