Rumblings of a Beyond Good & Evil sequel date all the way back to <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2008/05/28/ubisoft-announces-beyond-good-evil-follow-up" target="_blank">2008</a>, when Ubisoft showed off what seemed to be a teaser trailer for the game.</p><p></p><p>Nearly a decade later at E3 2017, <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2017/06/12/e3-2017-beyond-good-and-evil-2-officially-announced" target="_blank">the game was finally revealed. </a>It looked like an incredibly ambitious project, promising a <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2017/06/15/e3-2017-beyond-good-evil-2-is-a-massively-ambitious-rpg" target="_blank">multi-planet world populated by dynamically-generated characters</a>.</p><p></p><p></p><p>The long-awaited sequel returned at E3 2018, revealing a <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/06/11/e3-2018-beyond-good-and-evil-2-partners-with-joseph-gordon-levitts-hitrecord" target="_blank">partnership with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's HitRecord</a>, a production company that allows fans and community members to assist in a project's development. This meant collaborators could create music and art that could appear in the game. We last heard of the game in <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/ubisoft-confirms-beyond-good-and-evil" target="_blank">July 2021</a>, when Ubisoft said it was "too early" to say anymore about the game. It's anyone's guess as to if we'll see the project again anytime soon.</p><p></p><p>The original Beyond Good & Evil was released in 2003 for GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. It's an action-adventure that takes place in the year 2435, featuring Jade and her uncle, a pig-like creature named Pey'j.
