Check out the first trailer below.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Alone in the Dark will tell a new, original story but still reimagine elements of the 90s survival horror video game including characters, places, and themes from the original. You'll fight through horrifying monsters while solving puzzles and exploring Derceto Manor at your peril.</p><p></p><p>During a briefing with media, the developers revealed that one important theme for Alone in the Dark is to channel the flavors of Southern Gothic, which is particularly appropriate given the Louisiana setting. We also saw gameplay which included a third-person perspective with Edward shooting at some particularly gnarly monsters.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Pieces Interactive has brought in Mikael Hedberg as the lead writer on the game. Hedberg previously wrote the horror games Amnesia: The Dark Descent and SOMA for Frictional Games</p><p></p><p>Alonge in the Dark will be released for next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC.</p><p></p><p></p><p><em>Matt T.M.
